We offer guitar setups, restringing, cleaning, minor repairs, modifications and general playability checks. Whether you want to get an old guitar playing properly again or fine-tune your main instrument, send us the details and we’ll recommend the best option.

Yes, we work on bass guitars as well as electric and acoustic guitars. Setups, restringing and general playability checks are all available for bass.

Use the enquiry form to select a service and tell us what your instrument needs. We’ll then confirm the best next step and arrange a suitable drop-off or collection time.

Most setups are completed within a few days, depending on how busy the diary is. We’ll always give you a clearer timescale when you book in.

You can provide your own strings, or we can supply them for you. If you want a particular brand or gauge, just let us know when booking.

Collection and delivery may be available locally, depending on location and diary space. Ask when booking and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

Payment is taken on collection of your instrument. Guitar Genie accepts card payments, cash or bank transfer.

Most jobs do not need to be paid upfront. For larger, specialist or parts-heavy jobs, a deposit may be needed before work begins.

If we spot anything beyond the original service, we’ll let you know before doing anything. No extra work or cost will be added without your approval.

Our primary business is setups, minor repairs and modifications. We do not currently offer significant repairs but we’ll be happy to discuss the best course of action with you for any service we cannot provide - even if we need to suggest another provider.

We don’t currently offer paint services, but we can recommend other providers in the vicinity that do.

We do not currently offer amp repairs, but we have partners we can recommend.

Yes, but vintage guitars are assessed carefully before any work is agreed. We’ll always discuss the safest approach with you first, especially where originality or value may be affected.

Yes, if you’d like, we can send you a reminder every 3, 6, 12 or 24 months so you know when it may be worth booking another check-over.

Yes, we can keep basic notes on your guitar, including string gauge, tuning, setup preferences and previous work carried out. This helps make future setups quicker and more consistent.
