Some jobs do not fit neatly into a standard package. You may have a faulty pickup, a broken output jack, an intermittent electrical problem or a modification in mind, such as replacing pickups or upgrading components.
In these cases, please book a Repair Assessment or contact us before booking to discuss your requirements. We can inspect the instrument, discuss what you want to achieve and provide a quote for the most suitable work. No additional work will be carried out without your approval.
-
You are welcome to supply your preferred brand and gauge of strings.
We can also source suitable strings for you, with the cost of the strings added to the final bill. String replacement labour is included as part of both the Standard and Full Setup.
Please let us know in advance if you would like to change string gauge or tuning, as this can affect the neck relief, action, intonation and tremolo balance.

In many cases, yes. Fret buzz can be caused by low action, incorrect neck relief, worn or uneven frets, a poorly cut nut or changes in string gauge.
We will inspect the guitar to identify the cause and explain the best solution. Some problems can be corrected as part of a standard setup, while more significant fret issues may require additional work or referral to a specialist.
-
Yes. We can usually lower the action to make the guitar feel easier and more comfortable to play.
How low the action can go depends on the condition of the frets, the neck, the bridge and your playing style. We will aim to find the best balance between comfortable action, clear notes and minimal fret buzz rather than simply setting it as low as possible.
-
Yes. Crackling, cutting out and intermittent sound can often be caused by dirty or worn pots, loose wiring, faulty switches or a damaged output jack.
We can inspect the electronics, diagnose the fault and let you know whether the existing parts can be cleaned or repaired, or whether anything needs replacing.
-
